History Moulin Rouge
Built in 1889 by Joseph Oller Molin Rouge is the world’s most well-known cabaret meaning windmill or red mill in English. The Moulin Rouge distinguished by a windmill on its roof of the MoulinRouge is located in the district of Pigalle on Boulevard de Clichy in the 18th arrondissement, Paris.
Offering musical dance entertainment for tourists coming from all around the world, the Moulin Rouge has remained a famous tourist destination over the past hundred years.
On the stage of Moulin Rouge many international stars have performed including Ella Fitzgerald, Elton John, Frank Sinatra and Liza Minnelli while some French celebrities such as Maurice Chevalier and Edith Piaf were watching them.
The title of a book by Pierre La Mure was also Moulin Rouge.
